🔵 Filters & Cartridges

1. How often should I change my RO membrane?

RO membranes should be replaced every 12–24 months, depending on water quality and daily usage. If your purifier's TDS output increases or water flow drops significantly, it's a sign the membrane needs replacement sooner.

2. How often should I change the sediment filter (PP filter)?

The sediment (PP) filter should be changed every 3–6 months. If water pressure reduces or the filter turns dark brown quickly, change it sooner — it's the most common cause of slow water output.

3. How often should I change the carbon filter (CTO/GAC)?

Carbon filters (CTO/GAC) should be replaced every 6–12 months. They remove chlorine, bad taste, and odour. A stale-smelling or off-tasting output is a clear sign it's time for replacement.

4. How do I know which filter fits my purifier?

Check your purifier's model number — usually on a sticker at the back or bottom. Search that model on AquaProduct.in or WhatsApp us at +91 7045222111 and we'll confirm the right filter for you within minutes.

5. Can I use compatible/third-party filters instead of original brand filters?

Yes. Compatible filters meet the same specifications as original branded filters and are significantly more affordable. All compatible filters on AquaProduct.in are quality-tested and certified by Bareeze Pure Pvt. Ltd. (ISO 9001:2015).

6. What happens if I don't change filters on time?

Clogged or expired filters reduce water flow, allow bacteria and high TDS to pass through, and put extra load on the pump and RO membrane — shortening the life of your whole purifier. Regular filter changes protect both your family's health and your machine.

7. How many stages of filtration does an RO purifier have?

Most RO purifiers have 6–9 stages: sediment filter (PP), pre-carbon (CTO/GAC), RO membrane, post-carbon, and often UV + UF + mineralizer. The exact stages depend on your model.

8. What is the difference between UF and RO membrane?

A UF (Ultrafiltration) membrane removes bacteria and suspended particles but does not reduce TDS. An RO membrane removes TDS, heavy metals, bacteria, and viruses — making it more effective for high-TDS water. RO purifiers require electricity and a pump; UF-only purifiers do not.

9. Can I change my purifier filter myself at home?

Yes! Most filter cartridges — sediment, carbon, UF — can be swapped at home with basic tools. Watch our step-by-step Hindi tutorials on the Aqua Product YouTube channel for your specific purifier brand.

10. What tools do I need to change a water purifier filter?

Usually just a filter housing wrench (spanner), a towel or bucket to catch water, and the replacement filter. Most filter kits from AquaProduct.in for Kent and Aquaguard include the wrench.

⚡ PCB & Electrical Parts

11. What is a PCB in a water purifier?

PCB stands for Printed Circuit Board — the control brain of your purifier. It manages the pump, UV lamp, solenoid valve, TDS controller, and all indicator lights. A faulty PCB can cause the purifier to stop working entirely.

12. How do I know if my purifier's PCB is faulty?

Common signs: no power despite a working adapter, all LEDs blinking abnormally, pump not starting with correct input voltage, or UV lamp not glowing. Try replacing the SMPS adapter first — if the problem persists, the PCB likely needs replacement.

13. Can I replace the PCB myself?

Yes, if you have basic electrical knowledge. Watch the Aqua Product YouTube tutorials for PCB replacement specific to your brand (Aquaguard, Kent, Livpure, etc.). If unsure, call a local technician or WhatsApp us for guidance.

14. What is an SMPS adapter in a water purifier?

The SMPS (Switched Mode Power Supply) adapter converts your home's 220V AC to the DC voltage (typically 12V or 24V) that the pump, PCB, and UV lamp need. A faulty SMPS is one of the most common — and cheapest — reasons a purifier stops working.

15. My purifier is not turning on — what should I check first?

Check in this order: (1) power socket is live, (2) SMPS adapter output voltage is correct — test with a multimeter, (3) PCB indicator lights, (4) water inlet valve is open. Most "dead purifier" cases are a failed SMPS adapter, which is the cheapest fix.

🔧 Maintenance & Troubleshooting

16. How often should I service my RO purifier?

A full service — all filters replaced, membrane checked, system sanitised — is recommended every 12 months. Pre-filters (PP, carbon) should be checked every 3–6 months. If your water source is heavily contaminated, service more frequently.

17. Why is my water purifier making unusual noise?

A low hum is normal (that's the pump). Loud buzzing usually means a clogged PP filter creating back-pressure, or a failing pump. Gurgling sounds often mean air in the lines. Replace the PP sediment filter first — it solves most noise complaints.

18. Why is water coming out very slowly from my purifier?

Slow output is usually caused by: (1) a clogged PP sediment filter, (2) low inlet water pressure, (3) a partially blocked RO membrane, or (4) a weak pump. Start with the PP filter replacement — it's the most common and cheapest fix.

19. Why does my purifier water taste bad or smell strange?

Bad taste or smell after purification usually means the post-carbon filter or mineralizer is expired. It can also happen when a new purifier or membrane hasn't been flushed properly. Run the purifier for 15–20 minutes and discard that water before use.

20. What is TDS and what level is safe in drinking water?

TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) measures the concentration of dissolved minerals in water (ppm). For drinking water, 50–150 ppm is ideal. Above 300 ppm is considered poor quality. Check your water with an affordable digital TDS meter available on AquaProduct.in.
