How to Change Aquaguard Filter at Home — Complete DIY Guide

Aqua Product
Your Aquaguard is showing a filter alert or your water tastes different? You don't need to book a ₹1,500 service visit. Changing your Aquaguard filter at home takes less than 30 minutes and costs a fraction of what Eureka Forbes charges.

This guide covers every Aquaguard filter type — UV models like the Classic Plus, Infinity, and Crystal NXT, and RO+UV models like the Magna, Enhance, Nrich, and Reviva. The steps are the same across all models with minor variations in filter count.

When Should You Change Your Aquaguard Filter?

Aquaguard recommends annual filter service, but the real answer depends on your water quality and usage:

  • Sediment PP filter — every 3 months (or earlier if water flow drops noticeably)
  • Carbon block filter — every 6 months
  • RO membrane — every 12–24 months
  • UF membrane — every 12 months
  • Post carbon filter — every 12 months
  • UV lamp — every 12 months

Clear signs it is overdue: water tastes or smells different, purification speed has dropped, or the service indicator light is blinking.

What You Need Before You Start

  • Compatible Bareeze Pure filter kit for your Aquaguard model
  • A dry cloth or small towel
  • A small flathead screwdriver (for some models)
  • A bucket or tray to catch residual water

Step-by-Step: How to Change Aquaguard Filters

Step 1 — Switch Off and Unplug

Always start by turning off the purifier and unplugging it from the wall. Never open your purifier while powered on.

Step 2 — Close the Inlet Water Supply

Close the inlet tap or diverter valve that supplies water to the purifier — usually a small valve on the water supply pipe.

Step 3 — Open the Purifier Casing

Most Aquaguard models open from the front or bottom via a latch, clip, or 2–4 screws. Photograph the inside before touching anything — this is important for reconnecting pipes correctly.

Step 4 — Remove Old Filters

Place a towel below — residual water will drip. Press the push-fit collar ring inward and pull pipes out. Unscrew or unclip the filter housing and remove the old cartridge.

Step 5 — Install New Filter Cartridges

Insert the new cartridge firmly until it locks. Reconnect push-fit pipes by pushing in until they click. Give each a gentle tug to confirm the seal. Filter order matters: Sediment PP → Carbon Block → RO Membrane → Post Carbon → UV Chamber. Never reverse the order.

Step 6 — Flush Before Drinking

Open the inlet valve, plug in, and switch on. Discard the first 2–3 tanks of purified water (~15–20 litres). New carbon filters release harmless carbon dust initially — flushing removes it.

Step 7 — Reset the Service Indicator

Hold the power button for 5–10 seconds on most models. If the light still blinks, WhatsApp us and we will guide you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use compatible filters instead of Aquaguard branded filters?

Yes. Compatible filters from ISO-certified manufacturers like Bareeze Pure work just as well at 40–60% lower cost. The key is matching the correct filter size and type for your model.

What happens if I skip filter changes?

The sediment filter clogs and starves the RO membrane — the most common cause of premature membrane failure. A new membrane costs ₹1,500–₹3,000. Changing your ₹300–₹400 sediment filter every 3 months prevents this entirely.

Why does water taste strange after a filter change?

Normal — new carbon filters release harmless carbon particles initially. Flush 2–3 full tanks and the taste returns to normal.

The service light is still on after I changed the filters. What do I do?

The indicator runs on a timer, not a sensor. Hold the power button for 5–10 seconds to reset. If it doesn't work, call us at +91 7045222111.
